Tantric breath work, also known as pranayama, is a key practice in Tantric yoga and other Tantric traditions, aiming to cultivate spiritual liberation and enhance energy. It involves consciously controlling the breath to connect with vital energy, or prana, and unlock new dimensions of awareness. This practice can lead to reduced stress, improved sleep, and increased self-awareness, among other benefits. Azra has shared this knowledge to thousands throughout her workshops in the past ten years.

Tantric Breathwork Techniques:
Deep Breathing: Inhale deeply through the nose, feeling the stomach inflate, and exhale slowly through the mouth.
Diaphragmatic Breathing: Focus on engaging the diaphragm for deeper, more efficient breathing.
Synchronized Breathing (with a partner): synchronized breathwork can deepen connection and intimacy with your partner.
Kapalbhati: A specific breathwork technique involving forceful exhalation through the mouth, which can help with relaxation and detoxification

In Yoga, “flow” refers to a type of practice, often synonymous with Vinyasa yoga, where poses are linked together seamlessly, with each movement synchronized with the breath. This creates a continuous, fluid movement, rather than holding each pose individually. Flow yoga emphasizes the connection between breath, movement, and the mind, often leading to a meditative state.
Here’s a more detailed explanation:
Smooth Transitions:
Flow yoga involves transitioning from one pose to the next in a smooth, continuous manner, rather than pausing in each pose for an extended period.
Breath Synchronization:
Movement is synchronized with the breath, using inhalation and exhalation to move into and out of poses, which is a key characteristic of Vinyasa yoga.
Fluid Movement:
The emphasis is on fluid and dynamic movement, creating a sense of flowing and connecting with the body’s natural rhythm.
Vinyasa Yoga:
Flow yoga is often used interchangeably with Vinyasa yoga, a popular contemporary style that emphasizes the connection between breath and movement.
Meditative State:
The continuous flow of movement and breath can promote a meditative state, encouraging focus on the present moment and letting go of thoughts, according to Yogapedia.
Varied Sequences:
Flow sequences can be tailored to various goals, including building strength, increasing stamina, or promoting relaxation and grounding, says Tummee.
Beyond the Mat:
While commonly practiced on a mat, yoga flows can also be adapted for use with props like chairs or even incorporated into daily activities
